it is a real vacation in which you rest and relax between visiting places.
my experience was that i flew to Luxor , visited all the monuments there , then took the boat that moved towards Aswan.
it made several stops so that we can visit monuments on the way.
we stopped in Aswan, we visited the monuments there , then flew back to Cairo.
during the cruise we had our meals on board the boat.
we could order and pay for our drinks.
we could swim in the swimming pool .
watching sunset was great.
we shared in galabiya parties and made friends all along.
cairo and giza werent included in the cruise bec they are too far from upper egypt.
you can visit the monuments in cairo and giza after/ before your cruise.

Firstly it's the best way to see Egypt.You get on your floating Hotel ,which is what your cruise boat is.Depending on which cruiser you are on depends what sort of holiday you will have most are 4-5 star Full Board(Breakfast,Dinner,Tea) some drinks extra.Some have a swimming pool on the top deck so you can cool down as the Nile isn't very clean.Then you cruise usually your tour includes excursions to Giza(Pyramids),Valley of the kings.Karnak(fantastic)basically all of the ancient Egyptian sites you could ever want to visit in one go.waking up and seeing the Egyptian countryside roll by and watching the river traffic with their triangular sails as you eat breakfast and seeing the pyramids in the distance is magical,i'm jealous!
