Never been on a cruise before and curious which ones are more young, single person friendly.
I have been on more than 20 cruises and cruised on 3 of the 4 cruise lines you listed; Princess, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean ships, plus Celebrity and Holland America.
Princess, Celebrity and Holland America have great ships are more classy and reserved. They are just a little more upscale and luxurious than the other cruise lines. Passengers tend to be middle aged and up and have cruised multiple times. Holland America has mostly senior citizens (65 and up) cruising on its ships and very few kids and young people. In fact the cruises that I have done on these cruise lines have had very few kids.
Norwegian cruise line is good, they cater to families and have mostly passengers in the range of age 35-40 and up. Its the line that you want to go on if you want to be informal for pretty much your whole cruise. They have formal nights like other cruise lines but they do not stress dressing up; they call it "dress up if you want to" night. Norwegian has the most alternative eating places on their ships, but you will have to pay a fee of $10 to $25 per person per visit to eat at some of them. All other cruise lines also have these alternatives but usually only two such places.
Carnival is the budget cruise line that generally has the lowest prices. They cater to young people, first time cruiser and families. Most of their cruiser will be in the 20 to 45 age group and there will be lots of kids on board. Their ships have some good on-board activities like water slides, mini-golf, and basketball court. The best of their ships are their newer ships so do pay attention to when the ship was launched is you find a good and really cheap cruise.
Royal Caribbean is also a cruise line that caters to young cruiser and families; ages about 25/30 to 60. It has the advantage of having the most on-board activities, like ice skating, roller skating, mini-golf course, a basketball/tennis court, the rock climbing wall, and on the new Oasis and Freedom Class ships the surfing simulator, the Flowrider. The RC ships that you should look for cruises on are the RC’s Oasis Class, Freedom Class, and Voyager Class ships.
All of the cruise lines are person friendly; they will all cater to your needs and wants. You’ll find the young and single mostly on Carnival, RC and maybe Norwegian. That’s what I have observed on my cruises
Royal Caribbean is the best choose i ever made.
i went on when i was 16 with my mom (45) and sister (25)
I was the one to choose everything , cause it was my idea.

I have only been on Princess and I have to say Princess is a classy company. They are perfect for us. But if you are young, single and like to party, then Carnival is the way to go from what everyone says.

From your question, it fairly easy. Royal Caribbean would probably be for your parents and Carnival is like Vegas on a ship. Start the party in the parking lot and keep it going. What happens on the ship stays on the ship.

I think Carnival would be best for you. Carnival is extremely laid-back(they do have formal nights still of course). Princess is probably the fanciest, with lots of older people. Younger people tend to pick Carnival. Try visiting their websites:

We have only been on 2 different cruise lines, but we do learn a lot about the other lines from visiting people during the cruise. We have been on Carnival 4 times and Princess once. We found Princess to be less inclusive then Carnival. Princess charges extra for juices, lattes, and cappichino. Princess did, however, have a 7 foot deep heated, fresh water pool on the Lido Deck.
We have been advised by the other guests that Celebrety and Holland America are more for the older crowd and thus have a lot of people with walkers and power chairs on board. Point: lines move slower than molassis in January.
We are seriously think of trying Royal Caribbean in the future.
For the most part, no cruise line is bad. You will have a blast.
