However, if you’ve never experienced the magic of waking up to snow on Christmas morning- head somewhere where your childhood Christmas wish will come true. Whether you’re hitting the slopes or sitting by the fire it will be a special Christmas memory that will last a lifetime.

Last year, our family went to Reno NV for a combination of skiing, historical day trips, gambling & shows. Spent a few days in Lake Tahoe & few in Reno. In Reno, the "Grand Sierra" is super family friendly w/huge game rooms, a bowling alley & nice suites. The rates were great for a 4 star & being "off" the strip, even better. We stayed about 6 nights in the area (flew out on xmas day to use freq miles) & could of stayed longer w/all the historical western day trips (the train that runs thru Donnards pass into the Rockies is amazing). I’d recommend staying a few days in Reno, then shuttle to Lake Tahoe for the skiing & scenery. We’re from Fl & Reno was just a great combo of snow but not too cold & lots of fun & so not Vegas.
