5 Tips For Taking a Vacation For Less
Many of us think of vacations as an expensive escape, but you can vacation for less and still have a really good time. You can stay at the nice hotels, eat delicious cuisine, see many different sites, and enjoy your vacation while savings hundreds and thousands of dollars. Vacations don’t have to be expensive anymore, so here are five tips to help you save money on your next vacation.
Vacation during off peak seasons
First, you can save money by scheduling your vacation during an off peak season. However, you don’t have to sweat in Mexico during the mid summer or freeze in Alaska during the harsh winters. You can find a time when the weather is nice, which helps to avoid the crowds. One of the best times to go is during the transitions of April to Early May or mid September. The rates are much lower during these times and the weather is just as nice.
Stay in hotels in non tourist areas
You don’t have to sleep in a gritty and dirty hotel room to save a few dollars. You can find the best deals by not staying in tourist infested areas. If you are staying near a beach, look for hotels that are a few blocks further away. You will be surprised how nice the hotels are and how much money you will save.
You can also look for hotels that are closer to public transportation such as buses or train stations. This way, you can always take the bus or train to visit the areas of interest and no longer have to worry about spending money on renting a car.
Look for tasty cuisine by asking the locals
When selecting places to eat, you should avoid the tourist areas. Not only are the tourist restaurants too expensive, the cuisine served there is below average and is usually not authentic. Instead, ask the locals for the best and cheap restaurants, so they can point you in the right direction. Usually the restaurants that the locals dine at provide tasty meals and are much cheaper. Who would know the best places to eat than the people that live there? However if you are too shy, you should look for restaurants with cars parked around it and lots of people inside. This is a good indication that these restaurants generate good business.
Find free and low cost activities
Before you go on your trip, you should research through the internet to find cheap and free activities to enjoy during your stay. Many places around the world and in the United States have fun free and low cost entertainment such as concerts, museums, outdoor movies, and shows. It only takes a few minutes of research.

is it possible to take a family on a nice vacation for less than $2500?
It is myself my husband our three children ages 15, 11, & 3 and my 15 year old will be 16 in August so we are wanting to let her take a friend that is 16 and go somewhere nice but not spend a fortune! I would love to do a cruise or something but am not having any luck getting anything for less than $2500…is it possible??? Any tips would be great, we are not just wanting to take her to the closest beach where we always go which is Myrtle Beach we are wanting something special.
I would contact a travel agent and let them know your budget. Their job is to help you plan a vacation around what you can spend and what you would like to do.

That is a tough budget. Are there any nice hotels in your general area? You could stay in the area and play "tourist". Go out to eat, go to a movie, swim in the hotel pool and just forget where you are for a few days. Cruises are very expensive, I doubt you could ever find one for 5 people for that price. Disney World has an advertised package for 5 people for $3200 for 5 days at the Fort Wilderness Lodge. This includes your park hopper tickets! I would contact a travel agent and go from there. Good luck.

Seeing the sights in much of Thailand is relatively inexpensive. Even a visit to the Grand Palace in Bangkok or Wat Po only costs a couple hundred baht admission. Excursions are more costly, and most day trips are around 1500 – 2000 Baht. e.g. seeing the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Tiger Temple, a day trip to the temples of Ayutthaya, kayaking in Krabi, elephant trekking in Khao Sok etc.
Accommodation will be around 1000 baht a day if you want a proper hotel with a swimming pool and air conditioning. You can also book rooms with below sites, they usually have great discounts.
Airfares are cheap thanks to budget carriers like AirAsia.com and NokAir.com. One way flights to Chiang Mai and Phuket from Bangkok are around 2000 Baht including all taxes, which are usually more expensive than the flights themselves. There are also many special offers.
I’d recommend you to visit koh Phangan, it’s one of most popular destinations in Thailand, and is well-known as a celebrated island that hosts the biggest beach full moon party! Superb coral reefs and underwater scenery are The great attractions of Phangan too.
Krabi is also a good choice. white beaches, emerald ponds, fascinating coral reefs, numerous large and small islands and verdant forests with caves and waterfallsand. you can enjoy a lot of marine sports such as scuba diving!! Cliff jumping in Koh Phi phi is fun, too. hope you will have a very special family trip.

i GO TO vrbo.COM (VACATION RENTALS BY PRIVATE OWNERS) They have condos or hotels for real cheap because they are privately owned. I got a ocean front resort condo at myrtle beach for $950.00.I found cheaper ones that were not ocean front! I also have 3 kids. This resort has lazy rivers, water park water slides and indoor and outdoor pools! But you can go anywhere you want. It has a map of US. and you click where you want to go. And then they have websites from these private owners with pictures of the condo. I love it. By getting a condo with a kitchen, you can cook or do barbeques. That will save you money instead of eating out every night. They also have houses for rent or cabins. They have 2-3 bedroom condos with 2 bathrooms. Cheaper than Hotels! . I love that website. CHECK IT OUT!!!
GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!
