I am a male. Going to audition right when I get out of high school and I wanted to know what to expect. What are they going to have you do?
Do you audition in small groups or individually?
Thanks.
You start out auditioning in one great big group and there are cuts throughout the process to reduce the numbers. You need to be an advanced jazz dancer who can pick up choreography VERY FAST, but the first cut may even be based on looks with (for example) a simple walk across the floor, one by one, combined with a triple turn. They also look for the ability to do various tumbling tricks: cartwheels, flips, etc. The audition will typically conclude with hearing you sing. Finalists who will be placed on a waiting list for casting may be videotaped speaking to the camera one by one.
