Has anyone traveled on Norwegian, or Princess? How would you rate them?
I have been on 7 Norwegian and 3 Princess cruises among many on several cruise lines. Princess is head and shoulders better than Norwegian. It has better ships, better food, and better service. I would go on another Princess ship any day, but not Norwegian. Among the cruise lines I have cruised on I rate Celebrity and Princess at the top, followed by Holland America because of its food and service. Then Royal Caribbean and finally Norwegian and Carnival.
Contrary to what many people think and say all of the cruise lines have deals and specials that will make their cruises about the same price. You just have to ask about or look for the specials on the cruise line web sites. AND, you have to do enough homework on cruise prices to know what is a great deal. For example, right now Royal Caribbean has some great deals for its Mexico cruises leaving from Los Angeles on its Mariner of the Seas cruise ship: Look at the prices for the balcony and suites on these cruises; OUTSTANDING: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itineraryAndPricing.do;jsessionid=0000bcH1oVMD0UFwlegFVtJB9Ot:12hdhu6tq?packageCode=MA07X010®ion=MEXCO&ship=MA&date=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=&promoType=&hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&state= .
Likewise, look at the great prices for balcony cabins on the Celebrity Solstice cruising from Florida to the Caribbean: http://www.celebritycruises.com/search/vacationItinerary.do;jsessionid=0000dA0wUU5KSJWAIbr0k823AWP:12hdebdrn?packageCode=SL07E034&backPageName=Itinerary+Search+Results
Now compare those with a Princess cruise to the Caribbean in a balcony cabin: http://www.princess.com/pb/priceDetails.do?voyageCode=E021&tourCode=&date=&noOfPax=2&resType=C&definition_name=
Any time you can get a balcony cabin for less than $1,000. per person its a bargain. I cruise 3 or 3 times a year and also watch cruise prices and all of these are great prices.
Carnival is probably your best bang for the buck. They are usually have the lowest price and for that price you get pretty decent food and amenities.
References :
Norwegian and Princess are usually more expensive.
I would recommend Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. You can usually find pretty cheap cruises, and the ships are a lot of fun and the food is amazing on both.
Carnival would be your cheapest, but the food isn’t that great. They are more of a party ship, if that’s what your looking for.
References :
If your looking to save money and get alot of quality you should go with Carnival. I would take a Royal Caribbean cruise in a heartbeat as well. Norwegian and princess are also good choices but usually more money.
Hope I helped!

Experience of 25 cruises on several cruise lines
Princess is going to have much better quality than NCL. NCL has its fans, for sure, but the quality of food and service is below that of the other mass-market lines, according to what I’ve read. The "best" ["best" being totally subjective, but still...] mass market line would probably be Disney, but their fares are very high. Holland America and Celebrity offer a great cruise experience, but they are not for everyone, either in style or demographic. Royal Caribbean and Carnival have a pretty good product for the money.

I wouldn’t cruise on either of those lines. If you are looking for "cheap",go Carnival. However, if you want to cruise on the better cruise line, I would suggest you go with RCCL. They are hands above the other cruise lines and you will enjoy everything on their ships.
