you don’t need the number, just call and give them your birthday and zip code. they’ll look through their system and find your history

My heart goes out to them.

NO!! I am NOT offended and think its great. And NO I would not cancel my life, including cruising in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

The only cruise ships going to Haiti are those of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise lines which have a "private island" spot at Labadee, Haiti. I have been to Labadee twice and its a long long ways from PortAu Prince and it was NOT damaged at all. In addition, there are no towns close by where cruise passengers could wander off into; its an isolated area. There is NO WAY passenger will see any devastation or dead bodies. Besides, what’s the difference between stooping there for a day vs stopping at another Caribbean island a few hundred miles away; like the other side of the island in Dominian Republic, or Jamaica, or Puerto Rico.

For those who don’t know the ships NEVER stopped at PortAuPrince and the dock there is now destroyed anyway.

RC returned to stopping at Labadee after getting clearance from the Haitian authorities. RC employs over 500 Hatian people working at the port stop and in the crafts market on the island. That means that 500 Haitian still have a job and can contribute to the economy and as per usual those people will share their income with their families. In addition, RC is donating $1 Million to Haitian relief, delivering relief supplies when it stops at Labadee, and allowing passengers on all, let me say that again ALL, of its cruise ships to donate to Haitian relief through their on-board accounts.

You need to take a look at the facts on this RC web link: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCompany/pressCenter/pressReleases/info.do;jsessionid=0000Kwh7PMarsmkFDEE61w4plSn:12hdhu6tq?prDate=01-15-2010&prCode=A

With any situation you will always have people who disagree with the decision made and that’s their right. But in this case I think its pretty clear that RC made the correct decision after careful thought and plans to contribute to the relief and not just make money off of continuing its cruises. If I were on of one of RC’s or Celebrity’s ship with that scheduled stop I would want to make the stop. In fact I will be on that island on my next cruise in April and it does not bother me one bit that people are recovering from an earthquake because I will make my donations and know that the cruise lines will also. And I will be contributing to their recovery.

Me and my husband are looking to go on a cruise in Aug.2010 for the first time. We have been looking at different cruise lines and kinda feel overwhelmed. We are planning to go to Western Caribbean for 5-7 days. So far Carnival has decent deals be we are looking for suggestions on other that maybe better. Any help would be great. Other suggestions of destination are welcome as well.

Norwegian has GREAT prices and nice ships. I would say its the most affordable. The whole "Freestyle Cruising", is to me, a huge plus!
